Our handsome little man!

What a joy it brings me to see our sweet Dalton get excited about going outside on a walk. No I am not referring to mommy's speedy exercise walks where Dalton rides in the stroller(although he likes these rides outside too). I think I started something when I took Dalton outside a couple of weeks ago to see if he would be inspired to walk further if he went down the sidewalk. Well it worked really well because know he wants to go outside all the time and as soon as we do, even if we are just going out to the car to leave, Dalton wants down to take a walk down the sidewalk first.
Dalton has taken a few steps on his own between Mommy and Daddy, but these are with our initiative decision to let his hand go as we do laps sometimes at night. If he is motivated enough and steady on his feet at that moment he will take the last few steps on his own into our arms. It is so exciting to watch and fun to see him get excited about walking as we give him praise.
Dalton loves cats. It is so cute to here him say "kitty" with enthusiasum as he sorts threw his books finding them all. I didn't realize just how many of his books have kittys until he started pointing them all out. Dalton does an amazing job identifying the kittys in books, but in real life other animals become "kittys" to him as well. Whenever he sees squirrls or dogs he will call out "kitty". It is a riot to watch.

Dalton thinks it is great fun to put toys thru the gate at the top of the basement stairs. He delights in watching and hearing them go thud, thud down the stairs. It is so funny to see him collect toys from wherever he can and then scoot all the way to the stairs to drop them down. We gave Dalton a stuffed "kitty" for Easter. He gave it loves at first, but then proceeded to the stairway to drop it down. It is was so funny!

Sour cream! This is Dalton's new special favorite food and is reached for any time he even sees a food that looks similar. This is just one among many special favorites including: crackers (especially graham crackers), bananas, applesauce and yogurt and rice checks cereal.

Dalton likes to visit his cousins Cole and Collin. He will give me his exited face whenever I tell him we are going to see them.
I love watching Dalton and Cole interact and get a kick out of hearing them sometimes carry on there own conversation. All the boys enjoy looking out the low window in grandma and grandpa Engelbrecht's house.
Dalton loves to visit the park and go down the slide and more lately go up and own the stairs of the play ground equitment.

How exciting it is to see you becoming more confident and wanting to try new things. Your personality is developing and so is your will. I pray the Lord will instill into you a heart of obedience and the desire to follow after righteousness that will override your own will. The peace and joy the Lord has filled you with is a blessing to many. You are a very special boy!!We enjoy you so much!
